It’s cool how in the week preceding one of the significant Senate votes of my lifetime, Dem party leaders were totally preoccupied with how to strategically cozy up to their AIPAC handlers and distance themselves from one of the most significant democratic socialist victories in US history.

This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced — it’s the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Bluesky’s limits)

Re: Diddy being acquitted on sex trafficking charges, one of the reasons the MeToo backlash has been so effective is because the court system enables a commentary class to say the absence of a guilty verdict means that women and victims are liars. In reality it’s incredibly hard and rare to convict

Feels like ranked choice was absolutely decisive in this race—not because of the vote count, but because of how it changed the incentives from zero-sum to cooperapetitive. It allowed a fractured left field to align organically through co-endorsements instead of falling into a circular firing squad.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

A reminder that the @nytimes.com told New Yorkers to not rank Mamdani at all, & instead endorsed former hedge fund manager Whitney Tilson.

Tilson sits at a whopping .8%.

Corporate media trust is dead. They killed themselves by failing to fulfill their promise of holding the powerful accountable.

NEW: A @dataforprogress.org poll finds three quarters of all NYC voters support our plan to make buses free.

That includes:

🚌 80% of Democrats
🚌 66% of Independents
🚌 58% of Republicans

We know from our five borough pilot that free buses work. Now we know they’re popular too.

This will NOT fight antisemitism.

This is simply using Jews as an excuse to move a cruel, anti-immigrant, authoritarian agenda.

We refuse to be used this way.

To be fair, one man technically does not have this kind of power; he has it only because he has the support of an entire political party and its movement
One man just wiped out $10 trillion in wealth, is destroying centuries-old legal protections, and seems determined to unravel humanity’s greatest public health achievement. In 3 months.

I don’t know how we get out of this. But if we do, one person can never have that kind of power again.

It is easier to blame marginalized groups for mass traumas when you case doubt on and/or totally eradicate any understanding of their causes. Eliminating education and framing science and medicine as a conspiracy of leftist elites and corporations is a great way to help you get there.

Medieval pogroms against Jews were often driven by accusations of deliberately inflicting disease against Christian populations when plagues broke out, made possible by a lack of scientific understanding of the causes of disease.
