It's just a simple case of "Who the fuck are you fighting for?" We live in a society where girls are preyed on constantly and expected to act as willing recruits of our unpaid safety net. And your thing is that we need to be nicer to the predators?
Yes, @mattyglesias.bsky.social has also argued, in The Atlantic (of course), that older men pursuing sexual relationships with sixteen year olds is not pedophilia.

When it comes to projects facilitating the #sustainable #transition, citizens's trust in a developer can derive from either their competence (experience) or their integrity (transparency and principles).

Our research has found that integrity-based trust makes a bigger difference, but both matter.
What is more trustworthy: integrity or competence?

cannot emphasize enough how this is happening every single day and no one is a “superhero”

This is an important distinction bc the idea that resistance is based on superhuman individuals can demobilize what is actually useful: networked action of normal people
A mother in Minneapolis was abducted by ICE and sent to a detention center in Texas, leaving behind a 16 year old and a 3-month old baby. The baby was breastfed and hadn't eaten in a over day. Then a superhero arrived with 350 oz of breastmilk, bottles & extra clothes. 19thnews.org/2026/02/minn...

For project developers, informing #citizens and consulting them for feedback is often an afterthought. Our colleague Goda Perlaviciute has found that getting people involved from the earliest stages of a project and taking their input seriously can be a make or break approach for #acceptability.
To increase energy project acceptance, citizens need to be involved from the beginning

This is preying on my mind a bit. Jeffrey Epstein was not primarily a British scandal! So far we've removed a Prince from the Royal family, fired our US ambassador who was one of the most important political figures of the last few decades and banned the CEO of Barclays from the financial industry..
One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

Schumer doing us a favor here. Making it crystal clear he will not help us. We ignore or rationalize his message at our peril. He, Jeffries et al must be swept aside on the path to power. Thanks for absolutely nothing Chuck.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.
