Evergreen:

The first thing cops say after an incident is always a lie.
Black folk will tell you: The 1st thing cops say after an incident is always a lie.🤷🏿‍♂️

They lie because there's upside in it for them, and no downside.

No matter how many times they get caught lying, newspapers will print their next lie as the gospel truth.🤡

And people stop caring before truth hits
ICE lied about the person it shot, claiming he was a "criminal," but NBC finds that he had no criminal history whatsoever. Not even traffic tickets in 12 years! It also lied about the extent of the injuries to its agents....

We are in the "federal agents shooting and killing civilians in broad daylight on camera and the president lying about what happened" stage.
Trump: "I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting ... "

small-government conservatism is when a guy in a mask who won't show you his badge shoots you through the window of your car while you're driving away from him

they really can just liquidate you in broad daylight with cameras rolling and then blame you for it, which is obvious, and always has been, and yet, and yet, and yet

I'm sure the U.S. press will handle this story well and not engage in weird false symmetry that helps authoritarians obscure the truth about murdering a woman in broad daylight

standing there while they drove away really did feel like watching someone get away with murder. Like ah yeah there go the murderers in their cars, with their escort, which they have because everyone is mad that they murdered someone

some photos from portland and 34th today. we'll have a story up on racket soon. they gassed us, they knocked folks to the ground, and i watched agents ram a white pickup into a group of protesters, if you're wondering who was actually doing car violence.

Indeed, MPD let uncountable numbers of ICE agents cross their own police line today, where agents wearing the same uniform as the murderer walked unimpeded towards the murder scene
Even in the most charitable interpretation, giving up Minneapolis’s prerogative to investigate the homicide seems to expose a misunderstanding of the dynamics of the situation.
Minneapolis Chief Brian O'Hara confirms that the FBI is in charge of the investigation. He says MPD role is maintain the security of the crime scene.

It's also important for ICE to erase that this kind of public execution was entirely avoidable in any reasonable society. There was no need for a deployment like this, no need for the street interaction here, no need for the drawing of weapons, no need for firing, etc...

Anyone who has read Copaganda knows that we are in the crucial early moments of virality after an extra-judicial police murder. It's extremely important for ICE that the media plays along with the idea that what happened is contested and there are multiple perspectives.

Community, today I was on the scene at 34th and Portland where an observer was shot and killed by ICE. I am horrified, angered, and my heart is with the family who lost their loved one. She should still be alive.

Yes you do not and should not have to see that video, but it’s very important we have them because many of our major US news institutions have entrenched an insane dissembling of reality and regurgitation of authoritarian narratives under guise of ‘objectivity’.
the nyt says that no version of events in minneapolis can be "verified independently." but that's not true! there are multiple videos proving that the ICE version of events is a total lie. maybe the nyt can, y'know, watch one of them? www.nytimes.com/live/2026/01...

ICE agents smiled and gave thumbs up as they crossed the police line towards the murder site
ICE prevented a doctor from providing care to the victim.
They were not in fear for their lives.
They are refusing to give up the ID of the agent.
They are not going to allow anyone to receive punishment.

They think they can kill you and anyone else and it doesn't matter because they are above you.
ICE murdered a woman in Minneapolis and immediately turned around and blamed her for her own murder. Nobody is going to be punished for this and our neighbors are being rounded up into camps already.

You do not hate the modern Gestapo enough. Pride is and always will be a fucking riot, y'all.

DO NOT IDENTIFY or show images of people who you believe recorded video or photo of the killing in Minneapolis. Or who are eyewitnesses.

You are putting their lives in danger.

Let people come forward themselves in an orderly and as protected as possible fashion.

Please!

ice agents simply aren't trained well enough to be on the street. they are a genuine danger to citizens

The Minneapolis police tapped off the block and posted agents around the entire line. No one was permitted to enter-- except, of course, ICE agents, who were allowed to cross into the murder scene with impunity. One gave an MPD officer a thumbs up.
Every second the murderer is not arrested is another second for feds to hide him in a place that would create a jurisdictional fight. He's on video killing a person. You have to arrest this guy an hour ago, but you might still have time now.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

Worth noting that Minnesota Public Radio is NOT doing that. They're interviewing people on the ground, chasing down witnesses and facts, and treating ICE statements with the appropriate amount of skepticism.
Sigh. The NPR national news brief at the top of the hour mentioned the shooting and simply cited the DHS statement.
I truly don't think mainstream journalists in the U.S are prepared to cover state violence
