You used to be able to drive up the tarmac to the plane, keep your shoes on, sit more than 2 inches away from a stranger, wear a goddamn jacket and recline the seat without paying extra. I'm in a sports bra in case I'm forced to strip at security.

I know this is the cost of progress, and that the progress is real and that's why it is this bad now - but with it feels like with every year since about 2015 we excavate a fresh new low of our society's contempt for women and girls. Before the weight of the past dirt has had time to settle.
