Absolutely cannot wait to bust down the doors for a drink made by a company whose unionized workers are on strike in a store that doesn’t want to hire minorities anymore.
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

A Brooklyn-based collective, Artists in Resistance (A.I.R.) NYC, is not only committed to hosting COVID-safer art and music events from borough to borough, but also ensuring that anybody can do so for free.
How an Air Purifier Can Make Your Art Event Safer
The Brooklyn collective A.I.R. loans out the devices under the tenet that “illness need not be the price of living in community or participating in the arts.”

I really dislike this question of whether trans people are "really" women/men. It's the framing the anti-trans activists prefer, and as far as I'm concerned it's also completely irrelevant.

The New York Times obit for Alice Wong doesn’t mention Covid or Gaza

It ignores two of her biggest causes because of political bias

Alice fought tirelessly for Covid mitigations

She fought for the people of Gaza

She rightfully reminded us that the genocide in Gaza is a disability justice issue

I try to tell y’all, carceral psychiatry is sadistically cruel, I’m not the only one who knows that from experience because this is the system.

Hugely important for trans people concerned about passports - all passports will remain valid according to the government.
In somewhat good news, today the state department website has changed the answer to this question to defer to ICAO policy. Sources still tell me that there is some appetite for invalidation/reversion of passports issued under the injunction, but this message will be welcome to many trans people.

'tis the season when relatives demand a holiday wish list, and what I wish is that we could just give each other, like, oranges and leave it at that.*

*a lie; I like knitting for people, although I would just as soon not do it on a collective deadline.

Oh, gosh, this is such sad news. Any time a books vertical shutters, it sucks for all of us. I'm so sorry.
Today, Paste Magazine shuttered all its non-music verticals, a choice I am both professionally and personally heartbroken about. Sadly, I am once again looking for a place that wants to let me write about Books and TV on the regular, so hit me up if that’s you or anyone you know.

I have a lifetime to think about what a world without Alice in embodied form looks like. To have loved and been loved by her was one of the greatest privileges of my life. I will carry her spirit with me always.
Many thoughts about my cyborg bitch boss goddess accomplice Alice Wong & all the things she meant but there is a tendency for white disabled people to overshadow conversations about disabled BIPOC including in death. I choose to let Alice speak for herself & uplift those she wanted to represent her.

Im going to open a new digital bundle tier for $105 which gets you everything in the shop plus bonuses.
