My bucket list comics journalism project is a deeply-researched article finding the guy who invented the Peeing Calvin bumper sticker and exploring its significance for creative control of intellectual property, and I feel in my heart a major magazine should finance this.
calvin and hobbes rules and has always ruled because it's not ubiquitous. no toy tie-ins, no cartoons, no official t-shirts or whatever. it relied on the books alone to stay popular and that makes it special. leave bill watterson alone

My sense is that the “male loneliness crisis” is not really about addressing men’s emotional needs but rather the relatively newfound absence of having someone to perform domestic labor for you quietly in the background now that there is a longer gap between your mother and your wife doing it
