Republicans wouldn't let Jack Smith testify in public. Instead they did it behind closed doors and released a transcript and video on New Year's Eve, hoping few people would notice.
They think it’s smart politics, but I think it’s one more attempt to cover up treason. History will agree with me.
Capitol riot 'does not happen' without Trump, Jack Smith told Congress
Former special counsel Jack Smith told lawmakers that the Jan. 6. riot at the U.S. Capitol “does not happen” without President Donald Trump.

Lame-duckification is my new battle cry!
Thank you, Aaron.
"While Dems are likely to retake the House, they’ll need everything to go right to win both chambers. But if it happens, a year from now we’ll be talking about Trump's full lame-duckification & what it means for 2028. That’s a nice note on which to end a year in which hope was in such short supply."

One of the unacknowledged advantages of this awful era is that it's revealing for all to see the putrid connections between great wealth and great power.

The intentions of the oligarchs are fully exposed and more blatant than ever.

But remember: We outnumber the oligarchs.

In NJ, Muslim Americans are our friends and neighbors, they’re community leaders and caregivers. Trump and his team want to divide us so they can distract us. We can’t let them.

The most powerful force in American politics today is anti-establishment fury at a rigged economic system.

To counter Trump’s fake populism and his culture wars, progressives should mount a real battle against economic elites who have shafted America’s middle and working classes.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."
