As Farage is about to set out his economic vision, let’s recall that Kent County Council was due to be Reform’s “flag ship” demonstrating they are ready to Govern

KCC is increasing council tax, despite pledging to cut it, and has now had to ask the opposition to help them try and find savings❗️🤦🏼‍♂️

Ukraine has already begun planning and preparing for permanent cutoff of aid and support from The US. Trump is doing everything he can right now to help save Russia, but it is too late for Russia. Europe is re-arming and Ukraine will win this war without America's help.

very glad this story is finally getting out there - I first heard it in *2016* from another China correspondent, but neither of us were ever able to get anyone to talk about it on the record.

Zuckerberg’s Meta considered sharing user data with China, whistleblower alleges
Meta went to extreme lengths, including developing a censorship system, in a failed attempt to bring Facebook to millions of internet users in China, according to a whistleblower complaint.

“You are a traitor.”

An absurd and insulting thing to say to anyone who posts what Senator Kelly did.

And even more insulting since he served as a U.S. Navy captain and a NASA astronaut.

Kelly was a combat pilot and flew 39 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf War.

When Fines are not Fines.

On 6 August 2024, Ofwat announced fines totalling £168m on three water companies – Thames Water £104m; Yorkshire Water £47m; Northumbrian Water, £17m.

Not a penny has been paid.

Companies with 400 criminal convictions are allowed to negotiate what and when they will pay.
The water industry shows how the state indulges corporations to the detriment of society
Since 1989, water companies have been the subject of over 1,100 criminal convictions, but governments are content for them to control the industry.

This claimed to be based on an opinion poll... But the headline and the following article radically misrepresented the findings."

The Times has now become trash.
Lies, damned lies and misrepresentation
The Times recently led its front page with an entirely bogus story about VAT on private school fees. What were the facts?

I wonder whether anyone at the Beeb has ever told Robbie Gibb, the Brexit-supporting board member knighted by his former boss Theresa May who polices the ‘impartiality’ of others, to piss off. Someone senior, whether on or off air staff, really needs to. This nonsense can’t continue.
Was just disinvited by @bbc5live.bsky.social to a discussion of Brexit 5 years on- on the entirely reasonable/correct grounds that I know what I am talking about and would give an expert, objective view.

What they actually wanted was a "hard Remainer" (to balance a know-nothing Brexiteer).

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.
