During his first term, Trump’s version of “Title IX rights” was literally allowing rapists to remove their confessions from evidence in disciplinary proceedings.

It makes me sick to see the media describe this as an “interpretation of civil rights” instead of as a transparent violation of the law.

And THIS is why I said at least every captain needed to speak and be unified. Guess who is gonna get the hate from the Fox News crowd now? Sarah Gorden, that's who. The only Black captain. Okay, going back to work now.
Fox News has picked up Elizabeth Eddy’s column, and the response from the Angel City players.

I’m hearing Eddy will appear on Fox and Friends tomorrow morning.

Not gonna lie, I think every captain should be saying something on Sunday. It was an attack on the league and the sport. Just because it didn't involve your team directly doesn't mean it's not worth speaking on. It can't only be a problem when it directly affects you. It's too important.

The NWSL's silence on its gender eligibility approach has invited harassment of players — and now, an op-ed from a current player calling for "a clear standard" to address a problem that doesn't exist.

I am so sick of these people OBSESSED with this notion that trans people in sports is some kind of existential threat. It is so harmful to the players who don’t fit their arbitrary gender standards. This vile drivel is embarrassing for anyone, let alone an NWSL player. Disappointed and disgusted.

This is all so eerily similar to the approach conservatives took to rolling back abortion rights.

They start with creating barriers to access, but the ultimate goal is a full ban.
350 are anti-vaccine bills which undermine vaccines in many different ways including: barring discrimination against unvaccinated people, creating the criminal offense of vaccine harm, requiring blood banks to test for evidence of vaccinations and instituting a 48-hour vaccine waiting period.

These findings shouldn't surprise anyone, given the current political climate. But they should shame anyone who hasn't seen the need to protect queer and trans kids--and the family members, healthcare providers, and teachers supporting them--from dangerous political attacks.
The kids are not alright.

Longitudinal research shows that rates of mental health distress among LGBTQ+ youth have increased since 2023, that they're less able to access mental health care, and that nearly 1/4 have been threatened with conversion therapy.

This album is SO GOOD. The lyrics, the music, obviously hayley can sing like nobody's business. I can't wait till she goes on tour.
“They pose in Christmas cards with guns as big as all their children

They say that Jesus is the way but then they gave him a white face

So they don't have to pray to
someone they deem lesser than them

The South will not rise again
Til it's paid for every sin”

Victims of these horrific crimes deserve compassion and help, not politically motivated roadblocks. Dem AGs will see you in court. ⚖️

The problem with framing policy and law as "political debates" between pundits is that there is no examination of how political rhetoric, propaganda, and interpretations of law become actions that impact people on the ground.

Policies affect actual people; pundits are largely insulated.

This is the line that Dems need to push. It can't be simply. "Political violence is bad" it MUST be "Political violence is bad and Trump and his ilk are responsible for creating conditions ripe for political violence"
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) on the shooting of Charlie Kirk:

"Political violence, unfortunately, has ramped up in this country ... I think there are people who are fomenting it in this country. I think the president's rhetoric often foments it."

A reminder that this is what the path to a full ban on vaccines looks like.

No one is banning vaccines for everyone overnight. Just like with abortion, they will carve off one group at a time and hope the those still eligible respond with gratitude and self-interest instead of anger and solidarity.
It's official: Updated COVID vaccines have been approved by the FDA, but with restrictions.

Moderna: 6 months and up if high risk

Pfizer: 5 years and up if high risk

Novavax: 12 years and up if high risk

Anyone 65 years and up is eligible for updated COVID vaccines regardless of risk status.
