Thanks to a $5 million settlement with the NY, DC and IL OAG, the NWSL is required to report their investigations.

The semi-annual report and its exhibits give us a teensy bit of transparency into the NWSL’s process.

The last time we had the old boy’s club in the NWSL, it ended in multiple investigations.

I’m not at all saying that’s what’s gonna happen in KC, but tapping into the ol’ network can have terrible consequences. Can’t let friendship get in the way of the job

Canada goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan has signed with the North Carolina Courage through the 2027 #NWSL season. Sheridan recently left the San Diego Wave via what the Wave called a mutual termination. Sheridan was a leader in SD since '22 launch.

Big signing for NC after losing Casey Murphy.

I don’t intrinsically have anything against pragmatic managers, but I also can’t identify any coherent “style of play” across Armas’ teams to date

Re: the decision to not extend the CBA again: League sources believe both sides will get a deal done & there will be 2026 season. Too much at stake if games are missed. But we may not see a new CBA for a little while longer. The possibility of a super condensed offseason is real

When I get asked why North American women, Black women, women of color aren’t coaching in the NWSL, I’m just going to send them this quote.

The good ol’ boys network in soccer is alive & well in 🇺🇸. That Chris Long is calling Jesse Marsch “looking for a coach” is a symptom of a systemic problem.

Generally: Armas is excited to get in with a club that's fully loaded and still looking to get better. Says he wants to deliver.

"I said the other day, everyone's hungry. I'm starving. I'm looking to bite the candy. This is who I am. I want to win, and win decisively"

Can he deliver? We'll see.

Maybe Vlatko played a larger role in the search than Chris Long’s narrative allows for but I don’t know why there wasn’t trust in an NWSL pioneer like Vlatko Andonovski to run this search.

I really don't understand how the collective NWSL ownership doesn't see this as a crisis.

Since the end of 2024: Kerolin, Girma, Thompson, and potentially Rodman and Coffey have left for the WSL.

There has not been the same movement of players coming back. The movement has not been reciprocal.
