Just got back from Europe, where gorgeous third spaces and generous public services abound. Americans are so terrified that The Undeserving might get something that they'd rather have nothing for anyone. Why THAT is the case is another question.

I had to walk to downtown Minneapolis and wait for a ride the other day and there were no benches or places to sit, so I sat inside an indented window frame of a closed business. As I was sitting there, two men came up to me and told me to get up because people aren't allowed to sit in window frames

I'm sorry, but there absolutely ARE legitimate concerns.
A kid with XY chromosomes who identifies as female but hasn't medically transitioned in any way is a trans kid. And THAT SPECIFIC trans kid probably should not be playing on the girl's basketball team despite their identification as female.
