Silly jokes and politics and baseball ⚾ (Orioles and Mariners) and football 🏈 (Ravens and Seahawks) and romance novels and oversharing/anxiety. Left, but not as far left as you want me to be.

Every cishet man should be required to read at least three (3) romance novels.
I'm confident that a bunch of them would secretly love it because I saw how the football podcast men talked about Taylor and Travis. ("What if he proposed at the Superb*wl wouldn't that be great?" Adorbs)

I want the AI bubble to pop, preferably BEFORE the tech goons manage to put taxpayers on the hook for their data center loans, but the actual popping is going to be unpleasant

Insurance “works” because a pool of healthy people are paying money into the system that they won’t use to compensate for people who will use it and use more than they pay in. If that’s “fraud” your problem is with the model, and I agree because for profit medicine is bullshit.
“40% of Americans don’t receive social security or Medicare. That’s billions of dollars flowing for people who don’t even use the system”
Same thing. Fucking idiot doesn’t understand how it works and they still trusted him to call a vote to save the program.

Fucking great. Let people suffer for a month and a half, win a bunch of elections decisively, decide to give up so all the suffering was for nothing and so the people who voted know that you don't give a shit about them.

All of this is confirming my belief that Republicans never learn from a loss and Democrats never learn from a win
“People are blaming republicans for food prices and flight cancellations and health insurance costs and are furious about gilded ballrooms and Gatsby parties and the president is falling asleep on tv and is the most deeply unpopular president in history, time to cave” is a hell of an argument

I swear, if they let him send out checks, they all have to go. It'll be like the COVID checks all over again
if the Democrats are willing to accept this deal, in particular, i don't think a single Senator should make it through their primary. this just makes health inequity worse and lets Trump send out checks with his name on them!
"A development that appeared to break the logjam: Republicans proposed that healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than used to pay for a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies. That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...

So, um. I think The Troops might get restless if they don't get paid for the rest of the year.

Buddy if this goes into 2026 there isn’t gonna be a federal government left to reopen.
GOP SEN. JOHN KENNEDY: It may be 2026 when we'll come out of the shutdown.
REPORTERS: 😳
KENNEDY: I'm not kidding, you guys. I mean, you see what I see. Okay? This shutdown is going to last a long time. What's going to get us out of it?
