Episode 420: Emergency Frivolity

We resort to a bit of Disasterpiece Theatre, in hopes of baiting the Orioles into action. It's our service to you, Birdland.

We here at BEV wish all of Birdland the very happiest of holidays, with the exception of the Ghost of Kevin Greg.

Offseason's Greetings, to you and yours! We offer up this very silly production as a way to bait the Orioles into making it out of date within the next 24 hours.

Finish the job in the offseason, and we may see a lot more Orioles Classics in 2026.
I need a sports pick-me-up.

Just tuned in to Orioles Classics. Not sure which game I'm watching... Tyler Wells just gave way to Bryan Baker in the fifth, with the Birds losing to the Halos 3-0.

But you know what? I've got a good feeling about this one...

Once upon a time, we were big fans of Noel! His plus power and acceptable K rate were great, although the close cont. & reg. ratings indicated bust risk. In MLB, his chase has been his downfall (48%!! in 2025). Less chase or improved in-zone contact is the path forward!

Watching the Kevin Brown video and kept thinking it’s funny when folks say baseball doesn’t draw in a neurodivergent crowd.

I wonder if John would enjoy Las Vegas.

Am I shocked that we aren’t on this list?
No.

Am I disappointed?
You already know it.

So that actually happened?
It wasn’t a bad dream this time?
Why do we do this to ourselves?

I think all the time about what a better sports experience I would have had if my ancestors had just gotten on a different fucking boat.

"How you framed that question — I would have framed that question like: 'You got a chance to not shit the bed in a prime time game, man. What was that experience like?'"

Idiot.
Don't hope. Don't do that to yourself.

If it's any consolation, both fan bases are absolutely sick right now.

Not cool.
I would like to acknowledge the good thing, without my enjoyment of the good thing resulting in the universe dealing out a disproportionate response.

I am so sick of predictable sports outcomes.
Yeah, it's hard not to feel like the momentum just shifted.

Welp.

Tomlin blew it at the end of the first half. Here's hoping Harbaugh doesn't return the favor to end the second half.
