Most of my posts will be on film and politics, some on other arts or wry humor. Beginning today, the country will be a meaner and ugly place, so I want to emphasize mutual aid. Since my posts will be open to the world, they may be less personal — we’ll see.

Anyway, good to see you.

Apparently some folks are playing real dumb about skull symbols so let’s play a little game I like to call “Nazi skull or not a Nazi skull”

First up, the Jolly Roger. This is a pirate skull, not a Nazi skull. It means you might get robbed, but prolly not genocided.

With me so far? 1/x

NEW: Trump has targeted political foes — including Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook — for claiming more than one primary residence on their loan papers.

But ProPublica found that at least three of the president’s Cabinet members have done the same thing.

If Texas does a non-census-year biased redistricting, California and New York should respond in kind with extreme prejudice.

It’s a shame, because CA’s current party-neutral process is where all states should be. NY definitely needs improvement.

Listen, deaths are a natural consequence of violently arresting septuagenarians and caging them in terrible conditions away from their loved ones for alleged civil immigration law infractions. What are people complaining about?
Q: "A 75 year old Cuban national died in ICE custody. He had lived in the U.S. for 60 years...Is there anything you can tell us about that?"

Border Czar Tom Homan: "People die in ICE custody. People die in county jails. People die in state prisons."

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Let’s have a conversation about what happens when someone is raided like this and instinctively opens fire on ICE agents.

In that scenario, at least one person almost certainly dies—possibly a federal agent.

That’s bad enough. But what do you expect this administration will do next?
This is also a good distillation of what I mean when I say ICE has developed such a corrosive culture that the agency has to either be abolished or reconstituted from the ground up.

SCOOP: The Antisemitism Awareness Act — up for vote in Senate committee tomorrow — now has a religious liberty clause to protect ‘Jews killed Jesus’ statements by Christian conservatives.

New added language in the bill clarifies First Amendment protections.
