Federal judges in CA and OR ruled that DOJ’s demands for private personal data exceed its legal authority. Another federal judge ruled that the president has no authority to impose new election rules & override state law in OR & WA. Wins for now. Be vigilant. bit.ly/4g5RcEq @lwvus.bsky.social

Yesterday the Supreme Court delivered three decisions. None were about the redistricting case before them—Louisiana v. Callais. That decision will have an enormous impact on what remains of the Voting Rights Act. We are vigilant. Be informed: www.lwv.org/legal-center... @lwvus.bsky.social

These do not have to be mere memories of 2021:
✅Women’s right to choose
✅LGBTQIA+ Equality
✅Racial Justice
✅Environmental Protections.
There was so much at stake then. There is even more at stake now. In Unite and Rise there is hope: bit.ly/4g5RcEq

Mississippi law allows absentee ballots postmarked on or before Election Day & received no more than five business days after Election Day to be counted. That law is being challenged. The US Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case. We will be there. Latest update: www.lwv.org/legal-center...

You can make a difference.
You can’t if you don’t vote.
Due to USPS postmark changes, you may think you voted—but didn’t.
Know the facts.
Postmark changes could affect tax returns and other legal documents as well.
Plan ahead.
