I remember a former colleague of mine interviewing The Neptunes at the height of their powers and asking them if they were worried that if everything sounded like them, people would get bored of it? They couldn't process the question. It had never even occured to them.
I think Pharrell was an experiment. I think the experiment was “Would Prince still be cool even if he were lame.” And the conclusion was yes but not forever

Facebook Marketplace is like this strange liminal space where the barrier between worlds is thin. There are no rules on Facebook marketplace. There is no order. It is a space of confusion. There is only chaos.
Put something up on FB marketplace & now I am forced to deal with just the worst kind of weirdos. Its a free TV and no I will not drive it your home an hr away and no, I will not schedule a pick up at 2 am. What is wrong with these freaks?

Watching Girlbands Forever has reminded me of one of my favourite pop facts that 'I Know Where It's At' by All Saints samples Steely Dan (The Fez).

Man, I have bored so many women with that bit of music trivia. And tonight the very latest was my wife.

Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

"I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next... or the next... or the next... or the... what I'm saying is that I have nine lives, because I'm a cat".
Maximus Decimus Meridius Snuggles was never quite the same after he had past life regression therapy.

If this is true (doubtable), it's very funny that the Bond franchise painted itself into this corner because Daniel Craig insisted they kill him off as a condition of him starring in a fifth film. And they wanted him for a fifth film because they didn't know what else to do with the Bond franchise.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Nicola from Girls Aloud. Who I have met and she did not like me.
I asked this before over at The Old Place and the answers delighted me. So again:

Who is an artist you admire who you suspect would not like you if they met you personally?

I think Peter Dinklage is fantastic. I would absolutely get on his last nerve. He'd be looking for the door while we spoke.

My having a birthday just after Christmas was actually appreciated by my friends who would use my birthday drinks as an excuse to bail from Christmas family tedium. (Now I'm old, so no one gives a fuck about my generation's birthdays any more anyway, so it's fine.)
It should be illegal for people's birthdays to be between the 23rd and 27th of December. If you're born on one of those days, your parents should be legally required to choose either 22nd or 28th as your alternate birthday.

It says something of Andrew's degree of privilege that the ultimate possible punishment that can be imagined for him by his peers is to be just like the rest of us.
BREAKING

Prince Andrew will no longer be a Prince of the United Kingdom.

In an extraordinary move, Buckingham Palace has announced that the King is stripping him of that style.

Presumably, he will now be known as Andrew Windsor.

The Palace also stated he has been ordered to leave Royal Lodge.
