US government shutdown: Democrats split in the Senate, paving the way to end budget deadlock
After 40 days of shutdown, eight Democratic senators gave in on Sunday, joining their voices with the Republicans in support of a bill aimed at ending the federal government's paralysis. The decision drew criticism within their own ranks due to the limited concessions obtained.

Part of the complaint is a “constant drip-feed of one-sided stories celebrating the trans experience without adequate balance or objectivity”, so they want stories on how gender critters are attempting to make trans people's lives hell, right? Cos I can't see any other reading of that..

"Flop" isn't the word. He quickly made a name for himself and could capitalize on that for most of his life, basically the same as the modern "social media influencer" dream of today.
I did meet him in the days, and instantly disliked him, so I'd say the flop wasn't his science but his personality.

"Hyde language" would be a ban on anything related to abortion. So, any Senate Democrat that caves is agreeing to vote to implement a nationwide abortion ban in exchange for healthcare subsidies.
Democrats are likely to get a vote on an extension later. But they've already gotten similar votes. Republicans already vowing to block an extension without major changes to the ACA, like adding Hyde language.

But that would require Americans using foresight, which we're allergic to.
