The version of the Gospels where the Samaritan crossed the road to kick the robbery victim in the head and go through his pockets for loose change was suppressed by the woke fathers of the early church.

Quite alarmed at how much I like this. A Bella Freud dupe for we suffering, unfortunate types. In 120% acrylic.

To the people letting off the fireworks that are terrifying my dog, I wish you a lifetime of having to wash up bowls that have had Weetabix in them but haven’t been put into soak.

The bloke who got removed to France and then returned on another boat should be given immediate British citizenship. And an OBE. And the Turner Prize. Outstanding stuff.

I didn't know until we buried my mother, so probably most people here don't know: Jewish cemeteries strongly recommend that you get insurance for the headstone.

Because the cemeteries are so often desecrated, the gravestones smashed.

Nah. Though this is *exactly* as Burnham imagines himself.
Guys, Andy Burnham is the guy you fancied in school who you almost got together with at the sixth form disco but then you didn’t and every single school reunion while you are married to the boring guy you met at your first job, he gives you the chat and you briefly consider running away with him.

Dreamt my erstwhile 5yo daughter came back to life after dying in the previous scene of the dream & says: ‘It’s symbolic!’. Going with Twin Peaks: The Return as Sept’s tv mood music in the month she departs for uni was perhaps ill advised.

What if you just don’t like her mid century colourful graphic designs though? What if you’re sick of seeing them endlessly RTd into your timeline? Huh, huh?

Re-watching Twin Peaks. Discovering I can’t hum the theme tune without veering into The Adventures of Black Beauty. I figure my old age dotage will be characterised by a total surrender to the limitless 70s/80s’ cultural references stalking my head. 1990+? There’ll be nothing.

5 mos in a new house & I’m still surprised delighted to be able to hear Sunday morning church bells from any room I’m in. It’s the same unfathomable bit of me that also likes The Archers & some other odd Ye Olden Days Middle England stuff. Beautiful church though, no?
