Oh Boy...it's not about to get any easier for the #AlphabetTechPhoto challenge. Each week we'll be calling upon participants to provide us with a number which corresponds to a list of techniques and genres. This week Sheena chose 12 so we'll be tackling panned shots.

Panning photography is a technique where the camera moves parallel to a subject's motion during a long exposure, resulting in a sharp subject and a blurred, streaked background that conveys speed. It is used to highlight motion in subjects like vehicles, athletes, or wildlife, typically using shutter speeds around \(1/60\) or \(1/30\) of a second.  Key Aspects of Panning Photography Technique: The photographer follows the subject's movement with the camera, matching its speed to keep it sharp on the sensor while the background streaks. Shutter Speed: Slow shutter speeds are essential. Speeds such as \(1/60\) s or \(1/30\) s are common, with \(1/250\) s being the fastest, often used for very fast subjects. Camera Movement: The camera is swiveled horizontally, similar to panning in cinematography, often from a fixed position. Equipment: A 70-200mm lens is often recommended, but any lens can work. Using continuous shooting mode can improve the chance of success.
