I always thought if you want to stress test a bit of electronic or mechanical kit that purports to be 'heavy duty', just bolt it onto a bike and daily-commute it through a UK winter!

Nothing works harder than a commuter bike. Rain/snow/salty roads, glass, crap in the bike lane, giant gaps in road bridges, bike thieves! Commuter bikes get the worst jobs.

The best. I went into Harris Cyclery to pick up some tires for my commutecycle back in the day. I said something like, I just ride this one to work. For serious rides, I've got a racing bike.
