In my personal recollection, Jim Varney's role as Jed Clampett in The Beverly Hillbillies was his pivot away from Ernest, but in truth that was merely half-way through his run of nine Ernest movies, culminating in 1998's Ernest In the Army. Ernest rode him like a night hag unto his death.

I haven't posted any Honour Mode updates in weeks because I gave myself a heart attack doing the Iron Throne run and then couldn't bear the thought of the Steel Watcher boss fight. Having stepped away, the time came at last and Minthara eked out the win today. Now on to liberate the Orphic Hammer

As someone who has worked in libraries for twenty four years, I fully endorse. Outstanding professional esprit de corps and work environment, plus I get to feel like a real he-man when I do some basic plumbing or break up a dad spat at Family Night (happened just this week)
the women in the workplace discourse is very funny because a man who can act normal in an office environment that's predominantly female is absolutely on easy street. it's maybe the best gig anyone in history has had. and yet for many guys it is utterly impossible

The haters said they couldn't do it. And they were right. Honestly, great call from the haters.
NEW: The End of the Line: the centrepiece of Saudi Arabia’s Neom gigaproject - a 500m tall, 170km long wall-like building intended ultimately to house 9 million people - can’t get out of the ground, say more than 20 former Neom architects, engineers and senior executives.

I love that Mamdani is what the right claimed Obama was: A Muslim socialist born in Africa. The right practically manifested Mamdani into existence.

Went to the doc today because a chronic condition flared up after I neglected my meds for a few days. I noticed that on the big sheet of conditions/symptoms for the visit he had circled the chronic thing I was there about plus "ADHD/Inattentive."
Come on man, this wasn't even a brain visit. Come on

This post is how I find out Harlan Ellison had a connection to Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Between this and his conceptual consultant credit on Babylon 5, Ellison was much more present in my television diet in 1994 than I realized
