"Sadiq Khan will pocket an estimated £320m a year from motorists after hiking the congestion charge, The Standard can reveal" This is bordering on the misleading, if not actively so.
"Pocket" suggests he will himself get the money and sits within longstanding trend of misinformation about the mayor

The Lower Thames Crossing is unaffordable.

If fully publicly financed, it would need £16 billion of taxpayers' money!

We’ve joined forces across civil society & have written a joint letter to the HM Treasury advising urgent tax reform on the UK’s heaviest, most polluting cars.

We’re calling for change: a straightforward large vehicle levy, that would raise nearly £2bn for vital public investment.

That's incredibly disappointing and rather spineless.

Large SUVs are a danger to pedestrians, cyclists & other drivers.

It's time to take action to reduce their presence in urban areas.

Yes this!
For taxpayers, every piece of cycling infrastructure is a gift that keeps on giving.

An asset that returns annual savings in congestion, pollution, maintenance, safety and healthcare over its lifetime.

Stop asking whether your city can afford to invest in cycling. Ask whether it can afford not to.

Sadly missed it but absolute credit to @lb-southwark.bsky.social running a 'Guided Cycle Consultation' where Officers actually got out & cycled with residents to consult changes. People saying it was the best consultation they've ever seen. FANTASTIC progress that every Council should copy.

Abolishing cycle-to-work schemes in the middle of a climate emergency is exactly the sort of thing this dour, unimaginative lot would do.

And then they wonder why people are deserting them en masse for the Greens.

After analyzing eleven cities around the world, we found some answers, and it starts with prioritizing impact over power.

If you only do one survey this winter, make it this one. Bike theft is a massive barrier for many, putting people off cycling and causing massive inconvenience and financial hardship. It's NOT a victim-less crime
🔐 🚨 What's been your experience of cycle theft in London?
