Computer necromancer/vivisectionist, spoiler of grain, electromagnetic wave wrangler. Has strong opinions, weakly held. Pronouns (he/him) in bio, always antifascist.

Radio stuff is regarded as wizardry, and sometimes it still feels like that (especially when you get into at atmospheric effects), but it’s rewarding to learn about electromagnetic waves and how they interact with the world around us, plus you can call Elon a poser when he talks about Maxwell’s Laws

on some level you have to stand in awe of the gall it takes to use this tone about someone people are angry at for suppressing a story about a concentration camp

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

I’m a trained social worker. I worked with cases of CSA and other horrifying traumas. I didn’t learn til 6 months before I burnt out how dangerous and cumulative vicarious and secondary trauma are.

You don’t want this in your head and you don’t want it to live in your body. It doesn’t leave.
And as several folks are saying in the comments: curiosity about the Epstein files is understandable, but just for yourself personally, think carefully about what you want in your head forever.

It will come to you later in upsetting ways that you may not expect.

I promise you- people think they want to know the lurid details- they don't. I spent 30 years reading accounts of CA/SA and that shit never leaves your head.
I'm interested in knowing who was on public payroll and didn't do their jobs. And I'm happy to wait for the truth so it sticks.

So if I’m reading this right, the idiot wanted to attack terrorists on Christmas, and basically the whole world said “ok sure grandpa” and with with permission of the Nigerian government we bombed an empty field, nowhere near any actual terrorists. The locals arrived and found no one hurt:

A great example of how the @nytimes.com centers white Americans and Trump supporters in its anecdotal political coverage. You never see stories like this about Black Democrats whose cities are cracked in Republican gerrymandering to give them Republican elected officials.
They Wanted a Conservative State. They Might Get a Democratic Representative Instead.

The passage of Proposition 50, which redrew California’s congressional map, means that all of the state’s conservative north is likely to be represented by Democrats.

I think that "obesity" gave a lot school yard bullies and classist assholes cover to pretend they were actually public health heroes, and they are devastated that an actual treatment for obesity takes that away from them.
I cannot stand the repeated hit pieces on GLP-1s in mainstream media. NYT almost daily: GLP-1s wrecked this couple’s sex life! Or this woman’s emotional life! Or her cooking! NYMag today: Celebrities are so thin their bones are jutting out of their hips! Me: Anyone else remember the 90s?

Re-upping this in case someone needs to hear it going into the weekend and New Years. You aren’t alone— this is the hardest time of the year for so many people, and there’s *nothing* wrong with you if you’re one of them.
The next few days are going to be hard. The fear is palpable. So please, if you’re at all wondering: I wish you could see how much the world needs you. Right now, all that matters is getting to morning.

I'm just over here toiling away on 17th and 18th-century legal history unmoored to any contemporary issue, and it took me two years before I even started putting pen to paper.

Discovering a brand-new understanding of 600 years+ of legal history and having a written paper in weeks is... curious.
Maybe just me but to me it's incredibly obvious what these "birthright deniers" are up to. It's not an academic project, it's a political one, attempting to provide cover for conservative jurists who are now being asked to rule on this very question, and need a fig leaf of justification.
