Aotearoa. I cannot emphasise enough how important it is to read this and connect that it’s exactly how our summer has been with submissions. Also how we just did all this self organising. It. Is. The. Same. Playbook. #NZPol

It is alarming to see so little reporting from the media in Aotearoa about the Tim Jago case when there is so much to be scrutinised.
“This is not a time for politics” from David Seymour was not an instruction, team - it’s a ploy to bypass scrutiny.
Who is making the call on near-universal silence?

A smart agile country like NZ should look at the Canada and Mexico tariffs as an opportunity to do some good deals with both countries. Instead our foreign minister has had to apologise to Mexico for his deputy making racist remarks this week. Good job!

If Auckland lost 11.6% of jobs or had their hospital rebuild cancelled this government wouldn't last the weekend.
Wellington loses 11.6 percent of jobs in a year
That equated to nearly 20,000 jobs, economist Shamubeel Eaqub's data shows.

It’s so bizarre how Te Pāti Māori and the Greens are continually positioned by pundits as “radicals”when the impact of their time in coalition govts are things like whānau ora and insulated houses.

Meanwhile Act is treated like they are reasonable for wanting to re-write a founding document.

It is ridiculous that Corin Dann on Radio NZ is trying to conflate Israel Folau's homophobia with TJ standing up for tangata whenua and Te Tiriti. The Rugby Union can't use haka as part of its branding, and then deny or penalise a player for expressing support for te Ao Māori through haka. #nzpol

Bribing children to read with rewards and keeping them in at break for not reading at home really won't help them understand the power and joy of reading. Sharing stories as a class, prioritising time to read, talking about books together, celebrating poetry and being a reading role model will.

Did you love the hīkoi? Please spend 20 minutes making a submission against the Treaty Principles bill - today!

When you write, the most important thing is that it's personal and unique - short is fine.

It's sometimes hard to believe how bad the disinformation landscape in this country has; a well funded disinfo platform broadcasts 7 hours of new content each day, including hosts promoting the Great Replacement conspiracy theory, and government ministers are guests

I'll bump this from time to time. your submission can take under a minute and be a single sentence saying eg "I don't support this bill because it's unethical" you don't have to go into detail!
don't stop now Aotearoa. You can make your submission on Treaty Principles Bill til Tuesday 7 January 2025. I've just made mine. I'm very time-poor today & running on fumes with deadlines so it's not comprehensive and could be better but hey. kill me if you must

Then they came for the neolib edgelords and I just pointed up there
Then they came for me and said would you like us to move you somewhere nicer?
