You’re gonna hear Iowa’s federal politicians claim they voted to increase funding for rural hospitals by $50B. Don’t fall for it. The same vote cut $137B for a net reduction of $87,000,000,000 for rural hospitals.

Politicians who meet fascists half way, are just fascists.

Newsom is all about publicity & nothing about integrity.

It’s been depressing watching American ppl hero-worship a power crazed sell-out. It’s not just Kimberly Guilfoyle & cosmetic surgery he has in common with the Trumps. READ this:
1. Yesterday, the press gave Gavin Newsom favorable coverage for signing pro-LGBTQ+ bills.

Little noticed, however, was that he vetoed one of the most important ones: a bill allowing trans people 12 month HRT stockpiles, protecting them from federal threats.

The bill would have allowed transgender people to maintain a safe supply of medication in the era of government crackdowns on care.

Other trans journalists have also covered Mamdani’s incredible ad. It was so meaningful to so many.
I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Silent Hill f was great. Wonderful to have a high-quality Silent Hill game again after soo long. The themes are so strongly conveyed and depicted in very interesting ways. Still need to play NG+ for the additional story, but what was in the first run was satisfying enough. 3rd fav after 3 and 2 :)

Violence should not be used against free speech, is the refrain.

So explain why they use ICE to violently detain any immigrant for speaking and steal them off the streets in front of their children.

The Republican Party has openly embraced violence against speech.

There has been a rush among centrists like Gavin Newsom and Ezra Klein to brush over the hateful life of Charlie Kirk and valorize the man.

Let me be clear, killing Charlie Kirk was wrong and abhorrent.

We must condemn murder without sanitizing a man who built his empire on hate.

My latest piece.
We Must Not Posthumously Sanitize Charlie Kirk's Hateful Life
Influential anti-LGBTQ+ activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated on Wednesday. While condemning violence is something most can get behind, sanitization of his hate has gone too far.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination was horrific.

That doesn’t change the fact that the vast majority of gun (and political) violence has been perpetuated by right wingers.

You don’t get to change the narrative at will.

WTF? Does “the right way” to “practice politics” include lying re factual matters (eg saying Black Women have too little brainpower to be “taken seriously”)? Mourning Kirk’s murder & defending his right to make his wild claims doesn’t excuse praising his political MO

i'm not surprised to see liberal politicians trying to reach across the aisle and mourn an open white nationalist because they've always been decorum perverts, but i have to wonder where the line is, if there even is a line at this point. would we be getting weepy tweets mourning david duke

“There is no place for political violence in this country” say the politicians using legislation and rhetoric to attack trans people, immigrants, women and BIPOC daily. Just because it’s done with a pen and not a gun doesn’t mean it’s not political violence. Hypocrites. Not that they care.

I will remind folks those images of Nazi book burnings aren't burning just any books. They're burning the library of Magnus Hirschfeld; a gay, Jewish doctor who created an institute dedicated to LGBTQ sex education and healthcare. And a man who pioneered gender affirming care surgeries.

@robsandia.bsky.social Hey Auditor Sand. Would you be willing to say if, as Governor, you would commit to returning the civil rights stripped away from trans and non-binary Iowans this last session. As a critic of our current leadership, I'd love to have hope that you'd do the right thing. Cheers.

The fact there are people in my life who can still justify voting red and pretend they are anything but right wing boot kissers is wild. It truly shows how either indoctrinated into the regime they are, or how ill informed they are and always have been.
