Happening now: protesters in Chicago are interrupting a hiring fair at the Congress Hotel, where U.S. Customs and Border protection is recruiting today.

Banner reads, "stop kidnapping our neighbors!"

It's quite the scene in here, and the DHS table has been blocked for several minutes already.

Again, LAPD using military style counter-insurgency tactics to victimize a largely not-violent protest action. And we should keep in mind this is not the national guard, this is the regular police force ostensibly controlled by state and city Democratic leaders.
Impossible to post all of the videos from today but here’s LAPD unloading dozens of rounds at the barricade. They did this for over an hour.

Yes! Actually. It’s exactly this.
So you’re saying that healthcare in the USA isn’t allowed because it means Black ppl would be able to access it as well. And poor white ppl don’t mind not having healthcare to spite the Black community?

Two years ago, I wrote a brief piece for @truthout.bsky.social, arguing that we should view #SCOTUS as a national defense agency that has consistently worked to enshrine and defend white nationalism since its inception—a trend likely to intensify under Trump.

it is once again time to tap the sign
I am seeing more and more opinions bubbling up about how throwing trans people to the wolves would be a winning strategy for Democrats, and I just want to quickly say: Fuck off with that absolute dog shit.

I would like to re-introduce a critically important budget metric: Cost of Policing days, or CoP days.

In the 2025 budget introduced, CPD was allocated 2 BILLION, 89 million dollars ( $2,089,630,593 ).

That means our base unit is 5.725 million: 1 CoP day
The sidewalk pilot = 0.17 CoP days
One of the remarkable facts here: Johnson was already going small with a limited pilot that’s estimated at $1 million cost. They haven’t put the money in there, anyway.
