Took the bins out. No-one else has bins out on our street. Checked the council leaflet again, it said bins on Wednesday. Tomorrow is Wednesday. Checked my phone, it is now Tuesday night. Our bins are out. No-one elses' bins are out. I can't remember where I am. #InTheBleakMidAfterChristmas

I'm just back from three weeks in Ireland. What did I miss?

(I know Ireland has BSKY, I just avoid social media where I can when home).

I've a Union Jack shower curtain.
I've a Kingdom of Wessex flag on the ceiling of the bedroom.
I've one of every overseas territory hanging along the hall.
I've Jolly Roger bunting along the front lawn.
No please, please, let me finish...

1. Those who don't understand the causes of WW2;
2. Those whose side lost in WW2

Not saying my 7yo son has been terminally tech-poisoned, but he's watching the English victory celebrations and has just said, in full seriousness, "look how many apps she has".

The us government is working for us tech companies and us tech companies are working for the us government. Every country should be examining how much of their critical infrastructure now relies on us tech systems and whether they should start disentangling themselves from it.

The orgs list originally proscribed in the Terrorism Act 2000 is interesting. All Irish/British conflict from early 1900s through The Troubles.

And funny to imagine a Home Sec who argues that the military they had deployed there now needs protecting from Palestine Action throwing a bit of paint.

Really amazing - and timely - illustration of how the Prisoner’s Dilemma game can give us an understanding of how cooperation emerges and benefits everyone - and how the erosion of trust (and treating things like zero sum games) makes everything worse.
