There’s so much incredible architecture and design in Lincoln Cathedral. This intricately carved doorway, and view down through vaulting and arches, is one of my favourite bits. Not only is the detail stunning, but you are taken from a soaring and open space into a more intimate and enclosed one 😀

Spare some love today for Collingwood. The other Admiral at Trafalgar.

Proud northerner. Hater of flogging. Legit brilliant commander and Nelson's trusted right hand. First into battle on Royal Sovereign. Took charge after Nelson was sniped and saved the British Fleet.

Here's HIS Trafalgar... /1 🧵

I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

I’ve started doing quite a bit of research on ADHD coping mechanisms for staying focussed, and discovered that the fastest steam train was the LNER Class A4 4468 Mallard, which achieved a speed of 126 mph (203 km/h) on July 3, 1938.

Today I found out about the Yarmouth bridge disaster of 1845, in which 79 people (including 59 children) were killed when the bridge collapsed as they watched a clown in a washtub being towed up the river by four geese as part of a circus stunt. Bloody HELL.

Wow! Hard to imagine this on our streets back in 1973- 52 years ago!
In 1973, Honda almost built a mid-ship sports car with a V8 CVCC engine for the American market.
Volunteers from Honda Design recently revived the unfinished design, and a 1/4 scale model is on exhibit.

Why is it OK to boast about being bad at maths? It's National Numeracy Day, functional maths is a key life skill. It's OK to struggle with numbers, but it's worth seeing if you can improve too.

Can you answer the question at the end and do take the challenge: www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/challenge

In other news, it turns out my daughter regularly bumps into Rick Wakeman. She has no idea who he is, and was surprised when I explained I have at least 3 of his solo albums, plus a number of Yes albums from too long ago. Have been playing Yessongs recently!
