I will never see all the weird books this world holds, which is melancholy, but at least I'll never run out.
Sad to say farewell to this weird lil guy.

The U.S. is mirroring a pattern that has happened in authoritarian regimes around the world. When a government erects barriers to reproductive care, it doesn’t just cause death and suffering for women and their families. Such policies are often a first step in the gradual decline of democracies.

Seda Saluk writes about how U.S. policy on abortion rights has started to mirror patterns seen in authoritarian regimes around the world.

Autistic parents can be a curse.
I had a client's mom come into orientation with us on his first day of work....

(I help autistic folks find and maintain jobs)

Do not EVER go into your adult child's job on their first day and override the professional that's there to teach them how to be independent.

That's not mommy's job.

Once I stayed up all night drawing actual illustrations for a spot that ran nationally on short notice and I would like to tell the people who “hardly slept” because they were “writing prompts” that they are soft pathetic babies who can go to baby hell.
McDonald's has released an AI-generated Christmas ad

The studio behind it says they 'hardly slept' for several weeks while writing AI prompts and refining the shots — 'AI didn't make this film. We did'

It's baked in. They know damn well the impact this has. Now their go to is to ask: do you want to file a grievance, which if you ever have, you know is a complete waste of time. It is a delaying tactic. If and when anyone gets back to you, it is with some BS form letter that does nothing.

I want to talk briefly about the need for solidarity among minority groups, and how this relates to the Guardian's transphobic columnists... 🧵
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

So if all mental health diagnoses are "overdiagnosis", can female-presenting autistics and ME patients get the personality disorder and "somatisation" diagnoses removed from our medical records? Oh no, of course not.
The fact that many GPs don't believe people with mental health conditions will not be news to those of us with mental health conditions who have had to deal with these cunts.

Kudos on the BBC for continuing to manufacture consent to take away our rights and healthcare though.
