Ludicrously inadequate response from the publishers @wolterskluwer.com A paper such as this should a) never get close to being published and b) when its problems are pointed out it should be retracted immediately.
Last August, a reader alerted the editor of a medical journal to a recent case report “riddled with irreconcilable contradictions, medically impossible claims, fictional terminology, and ethical lapses.”

(1/x) This paper was retracted recently: Liu et al. 2018 (DOI: 10.1016/j.biopha.2018.02.006). I flagged issues in June '25, and it took ~8 months to get this clearly made up article retracted. But there is more to this paper. pubpeer.com/publications...

Yesterday we found juvenile female #kakapo Ongaonga on a nest on Pukenui/Anchor Island. At just under 4 years old (her hatch day is 12th Feb), she's the youngest female ever recorded nesting. Today we also found Matilda nesting - she's just 2 days older. #kakapo2026 #conservation #birds

I do want to shout-out my fellow sociologists, who have collectively created a discipline so woke that not a single one of our introductory textbooks can make it past Florida's censors.

Great work everyone.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.
