Haste makes waste,
Slow is smooth
Smooth is fast, in ways that matter most
I still write all my first drafts longhand. It triggers my mind to drift and daydream and imagine the scene visually as I write.

Sometimes, slower is better.

The slippery slope of that slop
It's fascinating to see the changes in one company's logo over the years.

Then why does one major news outlet still insist on upper case for the first letter of one 'race', and lower case for another? While the issue is less than in centuries past, it still sadly floats about in varying directions, and therefor be exploited.
GOP: "And now [thing] is no longer a problem!"

MAGA: "Hurray!" *throws money and votes*

Sane people: "But... that was NEVER a problem."
JD Vance: you no longer have to be ashamed of being white.

Not a single person in that cheering audience has ever, EVER been ashamed of whiteness.

Ever.

seriously ever.

Every tool has its limits, and MOCA is not exception, as it evaluates the areas of the brain that typically follow a common path downwards, but some people just have to be different. Also the evaluator has to do it correctly, such as giving only 3 words on a mem test without ummms all around them
Our family's experience with the MOCA is that it was given periodically to evaluate diagnosed conditions. My MIL actually scored in "normal" range until she was pretty far along the road in palliative care with both vascular and Lewy Body, so one actually could "ace" the test and have dementia.
Omg. “”The first question is like, ‘What is this?’ And they show a lion, a giraffe, a fish, and a hippopotamus. And they say, ‘Which is the giraffe?’” he recalled.”

A clear 19, unless you count the many AOL coasters as having used that service vs the CompuServe that I did.
Mixed I take as the action of making mix tapes.
20/20, and good heavens, what kiddo made this list? It's "MIX TAPE" not "MIXED TAPE."

(Mixed? Well... I've used enough different kinds of tape that I suppose it's possible I'm at 21/20.)

As if anyone would enforce that 'rule'(suggestion) on him.
If someone did, may they forever walk in Lego pieces.
I’m thrilled that Dick Van Dyke made it to 100 years old, and I also find it hilarious that he’s apparently too old to play with LEGO. Him specifically.😆

We only have Zero evidence because we just haven't found it yet. Perhaps we built something on top of it already. Perhaps the special feeling of the area invited Temple square on to it, and we aren't about to just dig that up to find out.
WIP: a crop of a larger panel showing a 66mya city of feathered raptoroids. Weirdly we have ZERO fossil evidence showing that Utahraptors domesticated the t. rex.

So Smegging obvious.
Like any tool, has its place, but would you replace your hand with a hammer as some AI fanatics are effectively and cluelessly pushing for.
I know why they didn't do it, but that headline would absolutely CRUSH if they'd deployed an adverbial f-bomb immediately prior to the word "obvious."
What a great headline

Oh, the wishful thinking of the punch line.
But I suspect the object is still too costly even at that price, sigh.
It's a Black Friday DORK TOWER WEDNESDAY! Cheap at half-price, new strip up now at the Mothership:

This is how to get anyone to actually think, and not just blindly trust. A worthwhile exercise for everyone, so worth giving it a try.

Are you your own person, or just someone else's meat robot? Mental paths to self-control can help you really be your own person, rather than the illusion of one.

For the most part, AI is just AutoMangle taken to extremes, in how to brainwash you with their automated Correctness think tools.
If I can't just ask it to assist when I want it, but it rather intrudes all the time, then it gets carved out entirely just like any other Clippy.

It's also good to check what other apps are connected and disconnect unused ones while you're there too.

Yet another reason why I don't use Micro$oft's Office, especially when there are other options. LibreOffice is my choice.
A lot of people are quoting this post and that's good because they should, AI sucks and robs us of something special and only mediocre uncreative piss-babies rely on it to make anything at all, fuck AI, p.s. Emma Thompson is now the president, sorry, that's just how it is

Nice having a spouse I don't need to explain this too. We both keep adding to our reading beyond life expectancy.
Explaining to my wife that I cannot simply “read the books I’ve already bought and haven’t read” like some kind of peasant.

Interesting that a notable Socialist Party of ~100 years ago is considered (pushed on us) as far-right by today's socialists.

Sigh, when extremists collide. At least this one appeared to want to truly debate the points, but such debate was likely what targeted him. Would have loved to debate him on options to make a safer place for us all. A bit hypocritical that it was a firearm used on him, just a bit.

Starting with ones own rhetoric is a good spot, only insisting on the "Other" tone theirs down is a blind spot. All politicians spout at least some rhetoric, and the voter choose which rhetoric to put in power.
Elizabeth Warren on people who say Dems needs to tone down their rhetoric: "Oh, please. Why don't you start with the president of the United States? And every ugly meme he's posted and every ugly word."
