Now I’d like to hear Chris Hipkins apologise to Tamatha Paul and the rest of us who he gaslit on police safety not that long ago 😡

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Chris Hipkins misrepresented what Tamatha Paul said. She knew exactly what she was talking about.

Hipkins crossed a major line when he did that. He should have made it right earlier. Now he NEEDS to make it right.

Brooke van Velden will be holding multiple street corner meetings all over Tāmaki electorate on 7th September. I highly recommend everyone comes to join them and make their feelings known about pay equity.

They get away with it because people don't protest like they used to.

Peaceful protests are useless against an enemy with no morals
anyone else remember when a NZ politician sent a text to cancel a major procurement and cost the country $600 million?

is there any other time in NZ history when an MP would've *got away with that*?

Chris Bishop's interview was a real banger once you extricate the spin:

1. If National win a second term, they will privatise NZ without restriction
2. He admits voter suppression laws will help National
3. $64bn+ of their transport plan is unfunded
4. They don't care for business cases

it genuinely galls me that TPM and the greens get called "too extreme" but the same is never said of NZ first and ACT, who are literal fascists.

I’ve seen estimate of 100,000-300,000 people in today’s march. A sobering thought: these are also the conservative (100k) realistic (300k) estimates of people israel massacred in Gaza.
It is massive. Thanks to Peter Deppeler on Twitter for the footage. #GazaGenocide #MarchForHumanity

Nice work, everyone who showed up and voted down around 15 bad ideas at the AGM. And thanks to everyone who voted in the elections.

Don't stop participating! The one thing we can be sure of is that the fuckery won't stop today.

We turn up next year e te whānau and each year until these racist assholes are gone. Because let's be honest they'll be homophpbic, transphobic, xenophobic and just about everything else too.
It's likely the FSU candidates get into the board of INZ. However the AGM votes have prevented the reactionary attempt to undermine the constitution and structure of the organisation. Next year, we do this again.

What about when they're dead, Richard? Can they do their jobs then? Where have you been for 21mths?

the core idea that can radicalize people is so simple:

there is enough.

there is enough food to feed everyone. enough resources to house everyone. money and technology and medicine to stop the suffering of people around the globe.

once you accept that there's only one question:

why don't we?

3. I’m very weary of abusive behaviour in politics being framed as ‘robust debate’ or ‘just jokes’ and even more so when the abuser is a white chap and the victim is not. Not to say women don’t bully, they sure do!
4. Why yes, I do have strong feelings on this subject…

Foreign affairs is not only the domain of your town hall, it’s the domain of your dinner table.

Palestinians have repeatedly asserted that they see and appreciate solidarity from all over the world.

The southernmost city on earth sees and cares about them. This is internationalism.

David Seymour’s schtick works because he is not held accountable by anyone. Not Luxon. Not the media. Yeah he is interviewed here and there or whatever but there’s not true accountability. Absolutely no way a Green leader would get away with this level of nonsense. Not to mention he is dangerous.

For 8% of the vote he has made school lunches worse, intervened in the new curriculum, tried to undermine the constitutional foundation of the country, and is trying to bottleneck legislation with his own appointed board, and responds to any criticism viciously, personally and usually misleadingly.

This is dangerous for a party in government to do. It's unacceptable.
wait, ACT is going after a different member of the public EVERY day? They're actually running a direct anti- free speech campaign *targeting* people for exercising their rights?

How have they not been taken apart over this??
