Every country has its big lie moment. This was the right's - the economy.

National inherited a AA+/AAA credit economy, one of the lowest OECD debt to GDP ratios, “better than expected” finances & positive growth expectations.

Importantly Treasury always forecasted inflation drops & no recession.

Chris Lynch media seems to enjoy race baiting Kiwis . Compare his message which antagonists like Ani O Brien used as evidence of "insanity" against the complete Health #NZ message - all are easily understandable but there's a reason Lynch cherrypicked a certain section out as bait #nzpol #Maori

The United Nations reports Israel displaced over 37,000 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in 2025, a new record.

The main driver was Israel's military operations in refugee camps across the northern West Bank, but thousands were also displaced due to home demolitions and settler violence.

Was going to paywall but too much critical information to do so - I'll never be a good business man but who cares? Public interest first. I'll give up my days for that.

New Electricity Tax To Subsidise Private Corporations & Fossil Fuels
National Party, laser focused on the cost of living, threw away ~$1 billion on ferries, introduced Paywave changes that will increase fees & are now levying a new tax on Kiwi families and businesses

Lies are going around about the Greens after Scoop published a bullshit article about Wellington Council not prioritising water management in 2021 when the facts show they invested a record $2.4b

The lies have been spreading fast. The piece was written by NZCPR i.e. the ACT Party affiliated group

What's interesting here is that RNZ usually leaves names out of the title when it's not a well known politician etc. and yet here they include the Justice's name prominently.

This is a regular reminder that bank margins in AoNZ are already - in the case of ANZ - some 53% higher than their parent banks in Aussie. This is profiteering, pure and simple

Before government was captured, governments would step in to manage fake news and disinformation that divides and harms a country.

Not anymore, under the guise of the "free speech" scam, foreign govts and bad operators have free sway now #NZ #nzpol

I know I'm in a minority on Bluesky but I think left wing folks need to go more to Facebook to hear what throngs of people genuinely think and believe. It tempers your own strategies and understanding of what the electoral map is. As the right say, echo chambers are not helpful and I tend to agree

Simeon Brown was quick to be outraged when a shop caught fire during a one hour strike [that was covered by volunteer crews].
Would he have been as quick to complain if the appliance had failed on its way to the emergency?
Of course not. He doesn't care about the safety of FENZ staff or the public.

3W had Maori co-governance to honour the Treaty & ensured water wasn't sold. Sev councils under Nat had contracted out water mngmt to Veolia. 3W was modelled on Scotland. The way Watercare has been spun off now with no Maori oversight to be a separate org does lend itself to privatisation.

New Zealand will likely sign a US-NZ Minerals Agreement and while the negotiations remain clouded in secrecy from Kiwis - if it happens, it'll be a move that commits our country to fast-tracking and expanding mining, largely to supply America’s needs and as a move against China #nzpol #kiwi

Only days ago, Luxon claimed NZ was not in talks with the US on a minerals agreement, that would accelerate mining.

But the US has been much more forthcoming, admitting we are in talks and moving towards agreement. My article today.
