I see why people were doing reintroductions now.

I am an ADHD/Autism self-advocate and researcher. I skeet these things sporadically ADHD/Autism/AuDHD science, local Aotearoa (NZ) politics, my own personal experiences with AuDHD.
I also skeet a lot of shitposts, and reskeet cool art I love.

One of the things I often hear in feedback from assessments is that people "feel seen" and for a long time I have been trying work out what makes people feel invisible.

I do not feel that I am exceptional at this - but I listen, I am non-judgemental, I acknowledge their emotions.

100 year bonds... on tech that will increase environmental damage, when the planet is forecast to be unliveable by then at current rates of warming.

AI is not a serious technology.
Big Tech companies are expected to invest almost $700 billion in AI infrastructure this year and are increasingly turning to the debt markets for financing.
Alphabet selling very rare 100-year bonds to help fund AI investment
Alphabet becomes first tech company to issue 100-year bonds in nearly three decades.

Wonder why the general public has the wrong idea about the changes to ADHD diagnosis.
I mean... what the fuck is this?

Really frustrated with the messaging around the change to GPs being able to train into diagnosing and prescribing ADHD medication.

Unsurprisingly due to how the government pushed it through their own party channels many people believed they would be able to see their regular GP.

Watching The Pitt and holy shit I have no idea how people survive as ER workers.

Admittedly they cover the worst case scenario for a hospital I imagine... but even before that event the day is just hell.

If any social media/chat provider thinks I will ever submit photo ID for age verification given how frequently data breaches happen, they are fooling themselves.

I'll just stop using the service.

Feel like all workers regularly exposed to a lot of trauma should be entitled to free counselling should they want it.

Our obsession with productivity is psychotic.

Because there's never enough productivity.

If you work hard, they want you to work even harder.

Making a line go up for the sake of making a line go up is just flawed.

Working from home rules. Got to spend an hour in my bed spending time with my cat before needing to get ready.

Every day my will to use the internet dies a little more.

Pretty soon I will be fully offline.

The internet was, and always will be a mistake.

I don't believe that all mental health challenges are downstream of politics but I've been finding it increasingly rough, watching autism & ADHD turned into a new theatre of the culture wars. The hit pieces on SEN kids, the endless badly-researched columns on 'overdiagnosis' - I feel really crushed.

So watching The Pitt after suffering through The Good Doctor. The neurodivergent representation is like night and day...

Why did my beach have to win best beach in NZ? 😞

It's already chaos in summer.

Civility politics is when people get more outraged at racist images of elite members of society more than systemic racism locking up and deporting legal immigrants indiscriminately.

This was utterly predictable if you've ever actually tried to engage with disabled people for their feedback before passing legislation.
‘I’ve lost my friends’: advocacy groups warn Australia’s social media ban risks isolating kids with disabilities
Despite the ban’s aim to protect young people, experts are concerned that those in marginalised communities or living with disabilities could lose vital support networks

Bill Lawrence has another show coming out this year...

Scrubs, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Bad Monkey, and now Rooster...

When does this MF sleep?

Legitimately hilarious that people are saying

"Joe Rogan has daughters, imagine if one of them..."

Dude already has. It's how the manosphere views women, even their family.

Stephen Joyce's reaction and consequent weeks after getting hit by the dildo at Waitangi are something I will always respect about the man.

Made light of it instantly. Continued to, laughed when John Oliver covered it.

Hard to imagine any of the current lot doing that.

Though I try to stay humble, I'd say I'm probably the nation's top journalist when it comes to in-depth reporting on the Waitangi dildo strike. Even so, I hadn't picked up this piece of info until this week thespinoff.co.nz/politics/05-...

This is so much worse when you consider our migration statistics also.

Net migration is way down. There are far less jobs. They have ruined our economy.
Unemployment reaches its highest point since 2015
At 5.4%, Stats NZ's Jason Attewell said it was the "highest since the September 2015 quarter, when it was 5.7%".

The line between just overwhelmed from the constant stress of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world, and burning out seems very blurry at times.
