At William Dalrymple talk yesterday the mostly white middle aged and older audience clapped heartily when he celebrated Mamdami’s win and announced his next book would be about history of the Palestinian people. Obviously this crowd skews lefty but interesting to see what they support

What if (stay with me here) we replaced the phrase The Treaty of Waitangi with say women's rights. Remove the need to uphold women's rights in
