When we asked legacy & social media to not platform bigots, it was because we knew it was the very thin end of a massive anti-democratic, pro-oligarchic, white supremacy movement that would ultimately co-opt & deploy the US state & its military to bend the world to its fascist will. Just sayin'.

Americans think Europeans are pathetic.

And sadly, I think that's what many Europeans think about themselves. That is how they're behaving.

Can any European leader say what they will do if the US openly prepares to take Greenland by force?

Ukrainians didn't surrender. Will Europeans?
Europe has two months to decide whether it will defend Denmark from US attack
"We'll worry about Greenland in about two months" Trump says after invading Venezuela, as White House policy chief Stephen Miller's wife suggests US occupation of the Danish territory is coming "soon"

Social media has played a major role in the collapse of democratic and international norms that we are now witnessing. I don't teach my social media course again until 2027 and I genuinely don't know where the world will be at that time. It is a very strange feeling.

Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Denmark is a NATO member. Article 5 of the NATO treaty.

We know how racist the security narrative is that we've consumed for the last 25 years, but maybe once Trump invades Greenland and its citizens that resist are called terrorists, a few more people might be able to see that.

Starmer must be so pleased the UK is not in the EU. It makes it much easier to just go belly up to Trump.

"Threats, pressure and condescending speech. Even from our closest allies for a lifetime"

"About wanting to take over another country and another people, as if it were something you could buy and own"

In the future, when fresh water is scarce I wonder if NZers have thought about a military backed dictator like Trump just declaring they now own Aotearoa for some jumped up reason. #NZpol

You mean that ppl help each other? If so, yes. This is what conservatism must absolutely hide, deny, mask and obscure.

An aim of the global far-right is to rehabilitate and legitimize the colonial project.
On X, a senior U.S. Justice Department official is promoting a post that praises colonization as “one of the greatest things that ever happened to the backwards parts of the world.”👇

At the heart of conservative philosophy is the idea that humans are inherently evil and violent creatures that need the order imposed by aristocracy but at no point have they been able to deal with or contain their own violence and tendency to destroy.
