It's crazy that the mayor gets to fuck around with vancouver's budget and not be specific at all, while the funds I applied for turned me down for nonexhaustive budgeting. If sim applied for the funding I applied for re: STREET UNI X when I was seeking it, he'd have been laughed off the zoom call

I attended SFF cons as a teenager.
I stopped getting regularly and persistently sexually harassed at SFF cons sometime in college.
"Oh wow you look way older"
No the fuck I did not because when I WAS older these weirdos stopped.

I see the “technically it’s ephebophelia” crowd is out today, so just a reminder that A) this is NOT a case where technically correct is the best kind of correct and B) the minute you say this, the gods dump you in the “irredeemable creeper” basket and wash their hands thoroughly after touching you.

On August 12, 1971, 16-year-old me mailed the first story I ever wrote off on its first submission to my dream market, F&SF. My tale was quickly rejected. Exhausting Russia's military through the brave sacrifice of thousands of Ukrainians and a massive amount of Western money and materiel was too hard to repeat, so NATO's plan to deal with the US is to stand by and shrug while Trumpists order the US military to hammer nails into their junk.
I'd just like to point out that we spent an entire shipment of air defense interceptors' worth of money on new signs for a name change that isn't even legally the name of the DoD.
