i hate the game politicians play where they back israel 100% until it starts killing too many people too fast, then they start calling for peace until the killing slows to levels acceptable for them. they're not opposing genocide, they're negotiating how quickly it should proceed

Same thing happened with the Iraq War! So many savvy Responsible Adults later admitted it was a huge tragic mistake, but that somehow they were still right for supporting it when they did. Who did they still think WAS wrong, though? Those dumb filthy hippies who opposed it too early!
It is pretty noticeable that even as mainstream opinion on Israel and Gaza finally shifts, you don’t hear the Responsible Adults apologizing for punishing all the college kids protesting the atrocities. Quite the opposite in fact!

naughty dog's modern output is characterised strongly by being increasingly edgy, but the noise from that obfuscates the fact their games are also just caustically mean-spirited. even if they were totally morally and politically clean, I would still feel uncomfortable with that aspect of things
