Ausgrid cut safety inspector numbers by more than half after receiving a secret report that said it was cheaper for the company to pay compensation for a permanent disability injury than to continue paying for the inspections.

Three people died after an Optus network upgrade prevented triple zero calls in three states and territories on Thursday, the telco’s chief executive officer has confirmed.

This is good advice generally. Given that we now know that there are no significant productivity gains - and that LLMs have evidently hit a wall on reliability, so things are unlikely to improve much - we don't *have* to drink the Kool-Aid.

FFS. This country is literally famous for its droughts. We already regularly have to be told to limit showers, use recycled water on gardens, turn off taps while brushing teeth... And they want us to spend our water budget on the lying plagiarism machine? REALLY?
