Gremlins 3 sans Dante is likely the closest I am going to come to morphing into a Snyder Bro level monster and for that, friends, I apologize in advance.

Oh look, another “All fans of (insert franchise) are dudes” clickbait article has dropped, which means it’s time to give away a couple of copies of my book “Fake Geek Girls: Fandom, Gender, and the Convergence Culture Industry.” Comment below if you would like to be entered into this raffle!

Not me getting misty at 10:22pm on a Wednesday at the amount of times the word "joy" is coming up in my fan studies research these days. Really needed right now, sending some your way.

A sincere THANK YOU to all who have taken this survey or shared it, you're tempting me to add a "if this gets X responses I will get a tattoo" incentive or something! It is so important to me to center the voices/experiences of a wide array of fans in this project, I appreciate the signal boosts.
Are you 18 or older with a fandom-related tattoo (or know someone who has one)? Please take 10 min to fill out this survey for my new book project on embodied fan identities and practices. Share widely! utexas.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_... Contact info: suzanne.scott@utexas.edu.

In 2013 I vividly remember seeing this ad as part of the Cover Girl “capitol collection” tied to Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Something distinctly/appropriately dystopian about giving the coal mining district a smoky eye.

Lloyd Kaufman of Troma just name checked Stan Brakhage. I may have been the only person in a room full of 6k people to woo at this. Also, fully going to see this Toxic Avenger reboot it seems like a damn delight.

Yup. Exactly my experience with a recent publisher, which I will never be working with again based on my experience. More disheartening than these cost cutting moves is the absolutely lack of understanding or action from the press/editors.

Blumhouse, the horror studio, teamed with Meta to experiment with a technology called Movie Mate. It’s a chatbot that encourages people to use their phones as they watch films in movie theaters.
Please take this online survey to help me understand how media fans feel about the use of generative AI tools (ChatGPT, DALL-E, etc), both in general and for works like #fanfiction and #fanart. #fanstudies Share with anyone who might be interested! ucf.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...
