In my Professional Speaking and Presenting course, we end with the Branded Elevator Pitch assignment, where the students think about how to quickly present their own personal brand for professional purposes.

Because it's the first time we've done this assignment, I created an example:
Dear #EduSky #AcademicSky -- how many other teachers are noticing an increased difficulty, inability, reluctance, confusion regarding reading detailed assignment descriptions and requirements, and then being able to follow them?

And, if you have noticed it, have you tried anything to deal with it?

Guys, women aren't looking for super macho, rich guys to provide for them and any children.

Women are looking for people they want to actually be around.

Look, I know students normally don't like having to do courses that they don't see as related to a major and thus to a job.

But the lack of respect some demonstrate is astounding. Have they not been taught how to behave in a way that will reciprocate respect?

If we don't have an international ban on civilian strikes in combat, then we have lost any ability to claim we are a moral species.

In some ways, perhaps MAGA is fracturing because they don't see Trump respecting their canon: America First.

Our public speaking classes end with students doing a pecha kucha. To help them, I decided to make one.

I choose a subject very close to my heart. Something I have been struggling with for over 30 years.

This is gonna seem like a nitpick, but I think it's significant: It's not a professor, it's a graduate TA.

Thinking back on my time as a TA thirty years ago, universities use TAs as cannon fodder, asking them to hold certain rigorous lines but reliably failing to support them.
OU has put the professor here on administrative leave:

Dear Stephen Miller,

Do I believe in astrology?

Well...no.

But there is something to be said about trying to grasp the enormity of probabilities that have to align to result in you.

Presenting analysis is about presenting your interpretation of the data given the analytical tools you used. It is also, then, persuasion. You are trying to persuade us that your interpretation applies given the analytical results. So, as with any argument, you need evidence. ...
