This video purports to show congresswoman Jasmine Crockett confronting Brett Kavanaugh in a Senate oversight hearing with leaked memos showing that he lied in confirmation hearings about his position on Roe V Wade. No mention of hearing date. Is it fake?

On Monday 9/22 I set my Spectrum VCR to record the series "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on KABC channel 7 Los Angeles to catch his first show Tuesday 9/23 after his return. Today I discovered that the only recording was a "Family Feud" rerun on 9/22. Does anyone know who's behind this hanky panky?

Alright, so I've been afraid to say this out loud, but I think after today, I can say it: In the first Battle of Los Angeles, the good people of LA County have prevailed. We beat ICE back. 1/

A text message from the CA DMV reminds me that I have an appointment at 12:40 and offers me a link to check in early to "avoid the line." What line? I have an appointment.

This is worth getting worked up about. Let's give it a name: PBN (the Propaganda of Big Numbers)

An articulate, straightforward description by Justice Jackson of the criteria for a stay, and how they were not met in this case. How any SCOTUS justice could ignore these unequivocally valid points baffles me.
I’ve never seen a dissent like this (on SCOTUS stripping away the asylum parole of nearly 500K human beings on the emergency docket) utexas.app.box.com/s/fkvbpqvf8w...

Data point for a turning point in Israel:

Ehud Olmert was old-school Likud, then followed hardliner Ariel Sharon to Kadima. After Sharon's stroke, Olmert became PM & led the 2006 Lebanon War.

It's behind a paywall. It's important to share it in this thread.

Tesla tanks because the entire world despises Elon Musk. Musk's solution: spend more time with Tesla. The man is delusional.

SCOTUS' inane instruction to the judge to "show deference to Trump re foreign affairs" is not getting the attention it deserves. This take is on target:
THREAD: Some folks have asked why Donald doesn’t just pick up the phone and bring Abrego Garcia back. Besides the cruelty, what’s the point of defying the lower court’s order? Basically, he wants to see if he can get away with it. 1/

Thanks for paying attention, Jonathan.
with respect, that’s not what the quote says

it says:
- they did not tell me to bring him back
- IF they did I would
- (by implication) I don’t respect any of the other courts, only SCOTUS

Listening to Musk is infuriating because he starts talking before his thought is formed, then spins his wheels in mid sentence deciding what to say. He then spews out 4 or 5 words on top of each other, which he seems to hope will be taken as a sign of intellect. Spare me.
Absolutely brutal

The closest thing I've seen to a plausible plan to deal with Trump thumbing his nose at the courts.
This is literally the point where the judge needs to hold the DOJ in contempt, arrest their attorney, then require a new attorney to respond every hour and keep arresting attorneys until they fucking comply and return this man to the U.S. the court needs to treat this as the threat it is!

Not for nothing, but how, exactly, is it legal to send people for *punishment* in a foreign prison (esp with no due process)? Were the funds being used for it appropriated for this purpose? I feel this has just become a thing no one questions

Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

It boggles my mind that the reporter interviewing Trump never, never takes the opportunity to ask Trump what law he thinks the object of his persecution has broken. Surely this is the lowest hanging fruit for a journalist.

Maybe we can get Trump to say specifically what the law firms were dishonest about so they can sue him for defamation and take away some of the money's he's now pocketing from bribes. Trump of course knows he's lying, which is why he never is specific in his charges.
Trump: "We have a lot of law firms that we're going to be going after, because they were very dishonest people. They were very, very dishonest. We have a lot of law firms that we're going after."
