As a guy who grew up in a Christian Nationalist family, it really is just high affect appeals to held dogmas that convince. Reality has little place in their epistemology, because Christian Nationalists are not at all concerned with reality, but pure idealism. (1)
I don’t think it’s possible to reach these people through arguments about reality because this isn’t based on reality. It’s based on feelings that are actually incompatible with reality

One thing that’s both infuriating and vindicating about undergoing a complete psychological/spiritual revolution is reading materials that support the epiphanies of said revolution *after* it. Like, I didn’t actually need to rawdog this, man. Why ain't nobody tell me beforehand.

Not to mention a great social venue! People have been making a lot of hay about ”third spaces” in recent years; the library can be that space! Sign out a meeting room and host a club, or just make chatter with friends and community members (outside of silent spaces, of course).
