It must be such a poor existence, clinging to the idea that anyone who likes anything artsier or more challenging than Vanderpump Rules is faking it for intellectual clout.

Some of my students have a truly uncanny ability to ask me questions the answers to which are literally the last thing that came out of my mouth. It's genuinely kind of impressive

Everybody needs to start saying this, loudly, and ideally with the corollary that we will not vote for anybody else under any circumstances
The “prosecute the former regime at every level” candidate has my vote in 2028.

Funny how people stopped blaming all of society's ills on violent video games the moment they started making a few people obscenely wealthy
Video games, heavy metal music, even Dungeons & Dragons got far more panic and condemnation, and yet none of them have driven people to this.

See you'd think this would work except their idea of an "unsafe" city is "I have to look at a homeless and/or nonwhite person"
The way we need to market this shit is to do what conservatives did for the past 30 years and write books like “The ten forbidden truths you’re not allowed to say on politically correct tv” and then it’s just cities are mostly fine and it’s good to get a flu shot
A remarkable trend that will come as a shock to you if your only info about NYC is from this Fox News.

Leaving Barney Greengrass after lunch, opened the door and there's Richard Kind staring me in the face. We kinda nodded at each other and went our separate ways. It's the most NYC thing that happened to me in 9 years of living there
Please quote this from the time you didn't interact with someone famous.

I was visiting with family in New Bedford, Massachusetts, at the same time that Mother Theresa was there visiting her Missionaries of Charity. The bishop held a Mass for her at the church where I was baptized. I didn't go.
Catching a train from Bristol Temple Meads, but they shifted the service along the platform because a scene from THE OUTLAWS was being shot where it would usually come in. The scene featured Christopher Walken and Stephen Merchant, but my train came before they shot it so I didn't see either of 'em.

I for one can't wait to recreate the experience of heightened, inscrutable classical dramaturgy by only being able to understand 20% of the dialogue because the sound mixing is complete dogshit
I'm pretty much on board with Nolan doing the Odyssey. How good does it really have to be? The important thing is that it costs $250 million to make

And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the Tim. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, beat on, boat against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
And Tiny Tim, who did NOT die, reckoned he got to light out for the Territory ahead of the rest, because Aunt Sally she’s going to adopt him and sivilize him and he can’t stand it. He been there before.

One of the most essential qualities of an artist is an ability to imagine a world different from the one that exists, something of which an LLM is structurally incapable. An LLM can never create, only compile, and to even do that it has to gorge itself on the blood, sweat & tears of actual creators

So like, we know the tariffs are also part of the fascism right? One of the highest priorities of a fascist movement is to achieve a monopoly on culture, and how better to do that than make everything from other countries prohibitively expensive
