Genuinely, as someone who plays several live service games I always have a checklist that's like
- Ask yourself if you're having fun
- Never have a "forever game", play or read or do other stuff alongside it
- Don't set paid subs to auto-renew
- Think about what you want, not what the game wants

Its actually not that surprising. The Game Awards are not that serious and XIV is in a transitional spot but a stupid amount of loud people want it to be a dying game and in a Shadowlands situation and its just not

FF14 being nominated for best ongoing in a year when I have seen its players do very little but constantly complain about a quality dip, with devs even copping to it, while Street Fighter 6 on a total tear not even getting a nod is making my head spin

Not necessarily favorite but I think a lot about the hunter/prey allegory and the reversal thereof for zenos in stb. I think a lot about how in german language the line “my first friend, my enemy” is instead “my prey, my hunter.” I think about it a lot.

Koh'a was raised to know how to hunt and survive. Their tribe travelled, and it was an important skill for all the children to be raised with. So he rarely goes hungry, and knows how make and pack rations for areas where food is scarce.
If your wol is a traveller, are they used to going hungry often? How confident are they at foraging a meal? Or do they have ways of staving off hunger or managing it? #wolqotd
