NB: When I, a professor of law, profess that an act is unlawful, I am not doing it to inform the lawbreaker, but rather to inform you, the reader.

So the question “what, like you think he cares?” is inapposite. The question is whether *you* care. I think you should, which is why I bother.

President Trump has granted a pardon to a slew of Trump world figures, including Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, and Sidney Powell, for their efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

This is honestly I think one of the things you should be most cognizant of in your messaging.

We got here and remain here because too many people think that bad things, really bad things, simply cannot happen.

And yet, we cannot also fall to the despair of doom. Do not credit unearned victories.
This is scary and bad, but you gotta stop making it worse and worse on your head until you conclude all is lost.

Folks: DEMOCRATS PLEASE DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING!!!

Booker: does a thing that gets a lot of attention and gets people excited and worked up and inspires people to fight and maybe convinced Schiff and others to block Trump appointments

Folks: not like that
So what legislation was he blocking?
Because that’s when historically it’s about eating up the clock.

Go look it up and then come up with yet another excuse for the Dem Party’s corrupt fecklessness.

what booker is doing right now is an example of what i mean when i say things like “we need more ambition right now.” there is room in american politics right now for people with ambition to take big stands and reap the rewards. he’s doing it!

Anecdotal, but I'm definitely noticing an uptick in advocacy for violence here. About which I'll say only this: Promoting violence on social media is the work of trolls and fools, those eager to bait others into implicating themselves in the age of surveillance or fools rushing to the gulag.

Schumer's whole plan, in his words, is "I am focused on bringing Trump’s numbers down, his popularity down, exposing what he has done to America and what he will do," but when asked about specifics like Columbia & Khalil, he leaps to Trump's defense while admitting he doesn't even know the details.
Here are Schumer’s responses on Columbia and Khalil:

/2 My particular view is that we have a simultaneous surge of (1) classic anti-Semitism — hatred of Jews as Jews (2) reckless employment of classic anti-Semitic tropes in political discourse, and (3) bad-faith portrayal of all criticism of Israel as anti-Semitic. It’s a hideous mess.

You know what would be really cool? A system of government where the whims of the head of state could be constrained by some kind of parliament or legislature, or there were some kinds of “checks” or “balances” that ensured that one person didn’t simply get to dictate how the government worked
