Honestly there is just so much deep Marie lore in that book. You could pick any tiny detail in there and ask me abt it and I could tell you a whole story abt why I wrote that in there. Why is the flower the love interest gives the FMC a hemerocallis? Why does she have ammolite stones in her tiara?
I’m deep in the editing weeds and let me tell you, making this fantasy world be based on Canada (flora, fauna, geography, weather, etc) was such a good idea. I enjoy writing it tremendously.
I wonder if readers will even notice tho 😅 I mean, they gotta, right? There’s a fucking moose in there!

Pollen and bugs. I looooooove the forest, I would shrivel and die if I lived somewhere that was further than five minutes walking away from a forest. But also, I indulge in forest in veeeeery small doses due to pollen and bugs.
You can always tell when folks who didn't grow up in nature are getting into a mystical nature kick because they talk about forests like they're these serene, perfect, peaceful places. No friend, nature is scary and tense as fuck and you're looking at a place where things live and die BY THE MINUTE.
