I’m not surprised to find Reedsy at the heart of a self publishing debacle tho lol. I was already pretty convinced that’s where he’d found his editors. The whole “so-and-so who worked on the Hunger Games” was a dead giveaway because that’s exactly how Reedsy presents editor bios.

No see they are self-published because the evil gatekeepers of trad pub can’t recognize their genius, while the rest of us are self-published because we’re talentless hacks /sarcasm

I’m sorry they wouldn’t say téléphone portable. They would use téléphone cellulaire.

Meanwhile, the Office Québécois de la Langue Française has declared these to be “le bas pour téléphone portable”, and now francophones are ruthlessly mocking each other because french people are saying “la soque” and quebecers are saying “le sôk”.

Anyway read books by humans, they have a lot more going on under the hood

Machine text would not have picked that particular flower because its mom used to grow them in her garden and they’re yummy to eat. Machine text might have been prompted with “a gemstone found in Canada” and gone with a boring, statistically likely option, rather than going with the cool option

Even when it’s not immediately plot or world-building relevant, every thing in that book is still chosen with care, and there’s a reason behind each choice (even if sometimes the reason is boring like “I needed a different word here to avoid repetition”.)

You don’t get that with machine text.
