Let’s be clear, most EBT users are white. The reason he’s specifically lying about “weaves” and we’ve seen so many AI fakes of Black women ranting about food stamps is they need to make BW the face EBT because they know many Americans don’t care if Black people suffer, and some actually wish for it.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

Not being even vaguely sarcastic:

At some point, a journalist needs to ask Johnson “you regularly claim you have no idea what your own government is doing. If we take you at your word, how are you so poorly informed, and do you this level of ignorance should disqualify you as speaker?”
Q: What's your message to the 170 US citizens who have been detained by ICE? About 20 of them are children

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know what you're talking about with the children. I haven't seen that so I'm not going to comment on it.

I want to take this opportunity to connect some dots. This is not a mistake. This is on purpose. The right wing ethos hates government oversight. They try to take over government precisely so they can make it less effectual. We see this everywhere that has Republicans in charge.
Last I checked the GOP controls all branches of our government.

if we'd treated their obvious baldfaced lies and deflections more like this over the past eight years maybe we wouldn't be in this situation

shocking how easy it is when you actually see it done
STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

I think: knowing how to code with AI assistance: absolutely an essential skill for developers to have.

enshittifying everything by putting AI into everything consumer-facing? no, thanks.

My first impression of Remix 3 is that it’s a bunch of new APIs to do what we already do. It doesn’t seem to unlock new capabilities.

HTML fragments are cool, but you can already do that by returning RSC from server functions in React. Astro supports it too.

idk man, if you’re getting to the point where you’re accusing prosecutors, judges, and metro police of being the enemy, i am skeptical you have achieved the kind of consolidation you need for this kind of a project

The scariest scenario for me is an incapacitated Trump with Miller fully running things.

Because Miller ABSOLUTELY has the stomach for it, Miller is salivating at the idea of full totalitarianism.

And he's too cocky even to think of it as a gamble, he thinks they win for sure.

When Stephen Miller talks about prosecuting domestic terrorists who malign Charlie Kirk, keep in mind that Miller has described the Democrats as a "domestic extremist organization"

He wants to terrorize and silence half of this country

It’s also worth noting that as soon as it became clear the Trump shooter had no real legible politics and certainly not from “the left” he completely vanished into anonymity. No one knows his name.
Is it just me or does this share a lot of commonalities with the attempted Trump assassination last summer? Maybe worth exploring those

I'm not trying to say anything about the shooter's ideology yet, we don't know enough.

But internet nihilism almost always boils down to fundamentally dehumanizing assumptions that hinge on fascist conceptions of personhood and worthiness.

In a world where exposing criminality is just a tool to be wielded for enemies, then an argument about Bill Clinton makes sense.

In a world where wrongdoing should be exposed on all sides without fear or favor...bring it on. It makes for a better regime to live under.
GOP greatly overestimates the number of fucks GenX and younger give about Bill Clinton.
