These people are causing destruction that extends far beyond changing regulatory policy. The consequences of Makary’s leadership failure will be measured in sick, disabled, and dead people. Makary must be removed and his deeds must not be forgotten.

Marty Makary’s tenure must be remembered as a turning point. The moment when science took a backseat to spin. Accountability is not optional. The public deserves leadership rooted in truth, not fear. The FDA’s credibility depends on it.

This is horrific unadulterated bigotry that has no place in Congress or anywhere. Full stop.
A sitting Republican Congressman in good standing said this, tweeted it out from his own account, and not a peep of outrage.

Imagine if he had said this about any other religious group. Why would it be tolerated? Why is this condoned?

One under-appreciated part of this: note the bit below about “and their dependents.”

Under the Trump admin’s new policy, dependent children of visa applicants are not allowed to have their social media set to private during the entire visa process. They MUST make their social media public.

Republicans use the "I'm not familiar with that" dodge several times a day now, and if a reporters or anchor isn't ready and willing to shut them down as soon as they try it, that means they're either incompetent at their job or a willing accomplice to the lies.

Either way, never trust them again.
If they pretend they haven’t heard about the story of the day, end the interview right there.
